Carpet re-stretching and tucking
Re-stretching and tucking will extend the useable life of your carpet so you don’t need to replace it. We understand that years of foot traffic by family members and guests takes its toll on every type of flooring and carpeting will eventually need a makeover. Most frequently, this is achieved by re-stretching.
Carpet re-stretching
Over the years, the surface of your carpet or pile can become undone. Carpet is sewn together in layers of fabric, while other flooring materials are solid, so this cannot happen. Therefore, to prevent bad things from ever happening, it is a good idea to have carpet re-stretching done as soon as possible. Carpet re-stretching doesn’t take very long to complete and it is an affordable option compared to purchasing and installing brand new carpeting.
Carpet tucking
When carpeting is installed adjacent to hardwood, it should always be firmly tucked between the wood and the tack strip that holds down the carpet. Tucking carpet is especially important when it is being installed on a staircase. You absolutely must tuck it firmly into the edges, so it won’t bunch up and create wrinkles that may turn into tripping hazards. Carpet re-stretching and tucking shouldn’t be considered easy do-it yourself projects.
Tile & stone repairs
Tile and stone, wherever installed, are in the form of distinct pieces that generally contain some form of grouting between them. If some tiles become cracked or broken, the repair involves replacing them with new tiles and re-grouting them into place. Hardwood repairs
Most hardwood repairs involve removing the worn out surface coating that gave the floor its original shine by sanding it down and replacing the surface with a new polyurethane coating. In the event the floor is seriously damaged due to moisture seeping into the wood through deep cracks or gouges, part or all of the wood will probably require replacement. Hardwood repairs require a great deal of expertise to be done correctly and this is not a job for the do-it-yourselfer.
